The Sivananda Lahari is a devotional hymn composed by Adi Sankaracharya. It literally means, "wave of auspicious bliss". It consists of one hundred stanzas of Sanskrit poetry in various chandas (metres).

HH Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji blessed devotees to learn, memorize and practice chanting of the Shivananda Lahari Slokas. Please avail this great opportunity and soak in the divine group-chanting renditions.
"Sivananda Lahari" means the incessant waves of bliss obtained through deep meditation on Bhagavan Shiva. Sri Adi Sankara Bhagavatpada composed these divine verses while seated in the depths of the forest of Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, India. "Sivananda Lahari" is a pinnacle of devotion, combining the unique and lucid poetic style of Sri Adi Sankaracharya. When chanted with surrender (Saranagati) to Lord Shiva, it bestows inner peace, spiritual elevation, bliss, and alleviates many difficulties in one's life.
For instance, there are four verses that praise the Poorna Chandra (full moon) as an embodiment of Shiva in his Ashtamurti tattva. The constant chanting of these verses grants the devotee the power of concentration, happiness, education, and wisdom. Such powerful poems can be found throughout the "Sivananda Lahari."
Unlike the "Saundarya Lahari," which is significant for its focus on mantra, yantra, and tantra, "Sivananda Lahari" is more devotionally centered and features a variety of poetic and grammatical meters (Chandas). Chanting these verses with devotion transports the sadhaka (disciple) to transcendent spiritual heights, adorned by poetic majesty, intricate alankaras in grammar, and profound depth of devotion.
